I am Human

I am Human

In this 10-week unit, students explore what it means to be human through imaginative drama activities inspired by Susan Verde’s book I Am Human. Using movement, role play, and storytelling, children express emotions, build empathy, and create meaningful performances. Each lesson is a playful step toward understanding ourselves and others. Suitable for Years 1 and 2 (Ages 5 - 7)

Finding Friends in Unexpected Places

Finding Friends in Unexpected Places

The unit centres around the picture book Moon Mouse, inviting students to immerse themselves in the imaginative world of its protagonist—a curious mouse who dreams of making friends beyond his familiar surroundings. Through guided exploration of the story, students examine themes of loneliness, courage, and connection. Suitable for Years 3 and 4 (Ages 8 – 11)

Where Do I Fit In? / Where Do I Belong?

Where Do I Fit In? / Where Do I Belong?

In this unit, students explore the concept of ‘belonging’ by first responding to a selection of symbolic items drawn from a mystery bag, and later by sharing objects from their own bags. Working in groups established early in the unit, they use a range of drama conventions to devise short scenes. Suitable for students Years 5 and 6 (Age 9 – 11)
