I am Human
In this 10-week unit, students explore what it means to be human through imaginative drama activities inspired by Susan Verde’s book I Am Human. Using movement, role play, and storytelling, children express emotions, build empathy, and create meaningful performances. Each lesson is a playful step toward understanding ourselves and others. Suitable for Years 1 and 2 (Ages 5 - 7)
Fire and Flood – Action on Climate Change
This unit of work explores the profound effects of climate change on our planet, using poetry as a lens. Central to this narrative are the picture books Fire and Flood by Jackie French, illustrated by Brice Whatley. Suitable for students in Year 3/4 and Year 5/6 (Ages 8 -11).
Finding Friends in Unexpected Places
The unit centres around the picture book Moon Mouse, inviting students to immerse themselves in the imaginative world of its protagonist—a curious mouse who dreams of making friends beyond his familiar surroundings. Through guided exploration of the story, students examine themes of loneliness, courage, and connection. Suitable for Years 3 and 4 (Ages 8 – 11)
Where Do I Fit In? / Where Do I Belong?
In this unit, students explore the concept of ‘belonging’ by first responding to a selection of symbolic items drawn from a mystery bag, and later by sharing objects from their own bags. Working in groups established early in the unit, they use a range of drama conventions to devise short scenes. Suitable for students Years 5 and 6 (Age 9 – 11)
Earth Guardians
Earth Guardians on a quest to gather information, wisdom, thoughts, wonderings, collective experiences to give voice to the last tree on earth. Suitable for students Years 3 - 6 (Ages 8 - 11).
