Dr Marthy Watson – Founder of Creative Arts Circles

Marthy is passionate about helping teachers bring creativity to life in their classrooms. With more than 25 years of experience as an arts educator, she has taught drama, dance, music, and visual arts across three countries and now lectures in Curriculum and Pedagogy at the University of Southern Queensland in Australia. Her research focuses on arts-rich teaching, creative learning, teacher collaboration, and children’s engagement through the arts.

Marthy works alongside educators to share practical resources, innovative ideas, and inspiring approaches that make the arts accessible, meaningful, and engaging for all learners. Through her teaching, research, and service, Marthy is committed to advancing creative, collaborative, and socially purposeful arts education. She continues to advocate for the arts as essential to meaningful learning and works alongside teachers, schools and communities to strengthen arts‑rich pedagogies that inspire confidence, joy and transformative educational experiences.
